We begin by conducting a thorough assessment, examining each child’s unique challenges, strengths, and goals. Using this detailed insight, we develop a targeted set of skill building programs tailored to support every aspect of the individual’s development. This personalised approach ensures that interventions are meaningful, practical, and flexible, allowing us to adapt as the perso grows and their needs evolve over time.
We engage in ongoing collaboration throughout the program development process, regularly reviewing data and incorporating feedback from both caregivers and other professionals involved in your child’s care. Whether you’re just beginning to explore options or you’re ready to dive in, we’re here to answer your questions, listen to your concerns, and provide guidance every step of the way.
Learning ABA therapy involves formal education and training. Many universities offer programs in applied behaviour analysis, and professional organisations provide certification courses. Our team offers workshops and training sessions for parents and caregivers to help you understand and apply ABA principles at home.
For ADULTS: The funding is provided based on individual needs and goals, and it must meet the NDIS criteria for "reasonable and necessary" supports. This means that the therapy should be directly related to the person's disability, help them achieve their goals, and improve their functional capacity and participation in daily life. For CHILDREN: The funding is provided under the NDIS for early intervention and capacity-building supports for children on the autism spectrum. The NDIS aims to support evidence-based practices, including ABA, to help children develop new skills and reduce challenging behaviours.
The best age to start ABA therapy is as early as possible. Research shows that early intervention, typically around the ages of 2 to 5, yields the most significant improvements in communication, social skills, and behaviour. However, ABA therapy can be beneficial at any age, and we tailor our approach to meet the needs of each child between 18 months and 12 years.
At STARS, we believe that small steps leading ABA to big changes. Our ultimate goal is to equip families with the tools, knowledge, and confidence to continue fostering positive change long after our sessions end. By empowering parents and caregivers, we help create lasting impact for years to come.
We are happily extending our support to the lovely communities of Revesby, East Hills, Eastern Suburbs, Port Macquarie and Roselands, nurturing connections and contributing to the children's growth and well-being.
